Islamabad — A suicide bombing outside a district court in Pakistan’s capital has left at least 12 people dead and 27 others injured, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed on Tuesday.

According to Naqvi, the attacker attempted to enter the courthouse but was intercepted by security personnel before detonating the explosives. “Our immediate focus is on identifying the bomber and those who facilitated this heinous act,” he said, vowing swift action against those responsible.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, alleging that extremist groups “actively backed by India” were behind the bombing. In response, a spokesperson for India’s government dismissed the accusations as “baseless and unfounded.”

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
